The Centaur - Skeleton and Organs

I have done versions of this before, this is my most recent. I had done a muscle version once, but that was years ago

Anatomical issues... I am sure there are, it's a centaur, the physically cannot exist XD But as usual I do try and make it as realistic as possible.

These are the centaurs in my story, as I have said I hate cut-paste myths so I have made the limbs larger and thicker, the face more horse-like and the have 5 hoof-like-toes (similar to that of prehistoric horses) to make it seem more realistic.

I could not find any detailed picture of a horses internal organs, but I did find a messy one and stretch it out to fit the top chest. The top half protects a large heart and lungs to support the body which leaves room for a large stomach and digestive system.

In my story these creatures live in forests and their toes are ideal to be walking around in unstable surfaces. They are omnivores and their social structure is similar to that of horses, one "stallion" controls a family of "mares" which have his children. Teens tend to leave their families later in life to start their own herds, females often join new herds while males can group together to take over an old stallions group. Unlike lions, they do not kill the children of the previous male; although sons of the first male are often driven away once they reach sexual maturity.

If one was to approach these creatures and describe them as "half human, half horse" they would be confused and perhaps insulted. They are neither human nor horse, they are a Centaur. To them it would be like saying a platypus is a beaver with a ducks bill and feet; although they may look similar at first they are nothing alike if you take the time to look and learn about them.
