The Mightiest of all Pokemon

The noble stance of my favourite Pokemon, Pidgeot.

I have had a history with this Pokemon. Starting when I got my first gameboy and Pokemon game, Pikachu Yellow, in 1998. I did not know Pokemon types and did not know how to play the game very well. However I still managed to defeat the Pokemon league with mainly stubborn force and heaps of potions.

Among my Pokemon was a level 99 Pidgeot. I had raised him all by myself and he was my most powerful Pokemon, able to withstand Thunder, Blizzard and Ice Beam. I always said “I never wouldn’t even trade him for a Mew”.

Anyway, I was fortunate enough to get the new Pokemon Stadium on Nintendo 64 and I could battle with him in 3D. But then disaster. It wiped my game.

Just like that, 3 years of work, 143 out of 151 Pokemon gone along with my beloved Pidgeot.

Ever since then, no matter what Pokemon game I bought, if I could have a Pidgeot he automatically became part of my team. Yellow, Gold, Crystal and Leaf-Green: in all of these I have a Pidgeot that is called “Thorondor” after the Bird God (My original had no nickname).

So Pidgeot has become my signature Pokemon. Here he is, the real and most powerful of all.
